Industrial vacuum cleaners are designed for suction of explosive dust or for working in explosive environments.
We offer a full range of ATEX-certified industrial vacuum cleaners that are designed to prevent the creation of a fire source. A vacuum cleaner used in an explosion hazardous area cannot build up static electricity. This is ensured by the use of earthed components, anti-static filter elements, special motors with overheating protection and accessories made of electrically conductive materials.
ATEX vacuum cleaners for potentially explosive dusts must comply with strict safety requirements and include the following components: earthing, anti-static filter elements, specially certified electric motors, insulated electrical parts and an insulated turbine-driven suction housing.
The DU-PUY ATEX series vacuum cleaners are manufactured with components and accessories that allow them to operate in full compliance with the ATEX regulations set out in European Union Directive 2014/34/EU.
ATEX zones are classified according to whether they contain flammable gases or dust. This means that ATEX-certified vacuum pumps are designed to operate in areas containing flammable gases, mists, vapours or dusts, classified as follows:
- Zone 0 (gases) or Zone 20 (dust): for long-term work in a continuously explosive environment;
- Zone 1 (gases) or Zone 21 (dust): for work areas where air and flammable materials can create an explosive atmosphere;
- Zone 2 (gases) or Zone 22 (dust): where an explosive atmosphere may be created temporarily and briefly.
Most standard DU-PUY industrial vacuum cleaners are also available in an ATEX version to make them suitable for use in explosive environments.
